Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter | 56 g
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar | 25 g
  • ⅛ teaspoon vanilla extract | 0.5 ml
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour | 60 g
  • 2 teaspoons multi-colored nonpareils (sprinkles) | 5 g

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Line a 5×5-inch baking dish with plastic wrap, leaving a few inches overhang for easy lifting. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and vanilla with an electric mixer on medium speed until smooth and creamy.
  3. Gradually add the flour, mixing until a dough begins to form.
  4. Fold in the sprinkles evenly throughout the dough.
  5. Gently knead the dough in the bowl a few times until it forms a smooth ball.
  6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  7. Lift the dough out using the plastic wrap and cut into ½-inch squares. Place the pieces on a parchment-lined baking sheet about ½ inch apart.
  8. Bake for 13–15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  9. Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Cut the squares evenly for uniform baking.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Swap sprinkles for chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruit.
  • Use almond extract instead of vanilla for a different flavor.
  • Try using unsalted butter and adding a pinch of salt for a richer taste.
