  • 2 cups (240 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (180ยฐC).
  2. Cook the beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula or wooden spoon. Drain excess grease and return the skillet to the stove.
  3. Make the sauce: Stir in Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, and marinara sauce. Simmer for about 5 minutes. Taste the sauce and add salt if needed. Remove from heat.
  4. Assemble the lasagna:
    • Spread one-third of the meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch casserole dish.
    • Add half of the ravioli in a single layer.
    • Spread half of the ricotta over the ravioli.
    • Repeat with another layer of meat sauce, the remaining ravioli, and the rest of the ricotta.
    • Top with the final layer of meat sauce, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan evenly on top.
  5. Bake: Cover tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes. For a golden, bubbly top, place under the broiler for 1โ€“2 minutes.
