Ingredients

  • 8 oz (225 g) dried pasta (penne, rigatoni, fusilli, shells, bow ties, or ziti)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil (or avocado, canola, or vegetable oil)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ tsp salt

Instructions

1. Cook the Pasta

Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente.

2. Preheat and Season

  • Air Fryer: Preheat to 375°F (190°C).
  • Oven: Preheat to 375°F (190°C).

Drain the pasta and toss with oil, garlic powder, oregano, smoked paprika, Parmesan, and salt until evenly coated.

3. Cook the Pasta Chips

Air Fryer Method:

  1. Spread the pasta in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding for even crisping.
  2. Air fry for 10–12 minutes, shaking the basket every few minutes.
  3. If needed, cook 1–2 extra minutes for extra crispiness.

Oven Method:

  1. Spread the pasta in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 10–15 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

4. Cool and Serve

Remove the pasta chips and allow to cool a few minutes before serving.

  • Use al dente pasta: Overcooked pasta won’t crisp properly.
  • Cool before serving: Helps chips retain crunch.

Variations and Substitutions

  • Spices: Try chili powder, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, or Cajun spices.
  • Cheese: Swap Parmesan for nutritional yeast or cheddar for different flavors.
  • Pasta shapes: Use any small or medium pasta for varied textures.
  • Vegan option: Use olive oil and omit or replace Parmesan with a plant-based alternative.

FAQs
