Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1.5 cups chicken broth
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (e.g., Hidden Valley)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pepper, to taste
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 teaspoon cold water
  • 1 packet chicken gravy mix

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Liquid Base
    • Add the chicken broth, ranch seasoning mix, garlic powder, and pepper to your Instant Pot. Whisk until all powders dissolve.
  2. Add the Chicken
    • Place the chicken breasts in the liquid, ensuring they are mostly submerged. Spoon some of the liquid over the top if needed.
  3. Pressure Cook
    • Secure the lid, set the valve to “sealing,” and cook on high pressure for 8 minutes.
  4. Natural Release
    • Allow the pressure to naturally release for 5 minutes, then perform a quick release to remove any remaining pressure.
  5. Thicken the Gravy
    • Remove the chicken from the pot and set it aside. Mix the cornstarch and water in a small bowl to form a slurry. Add the slurry and chicken gravy mix to the Instant Pot. Press the “sauté” function and whisk until the gravy thickens (about 3–5 minutes). Once thickened, turn off the sauté function.
  6. Shred and Combine
    • Slice or shred the chicken, then return it to the Instant Pot. Stir to coat the chicken in the gravy.
  7. Serve
    • Serve warm with mashed potatoes, pasta, rice, or any side of your choice.
