Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets, 8 ounces each (225g), skin on or off, patted dry
  • ยผ tsp paprika or smoked paprika
  • ยฝ tsp salt
  • ยผ tsp ground black pepper

For the Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • 5 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

1. Season the salmon.
Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Sprinkle with paprika, salt, and black pepper, and gently press the seasonings into the flesh.

2. Sear the salmon.
Heat butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Place salmon skin-side down first (if skin is on), pressing lightly with a spatula for full contact. Cook for a few minutes, flip, and cook the other side. Remove fillets and set aside.

3. Prepare the honey garlic sauce.
In the same pan with remaining butter, add garlic, honey, water, soy sauce, and lemon juice. Cook for 2โ€“3 minutes, stirring, until the sauce begins to thicken.

4. Combine salmon with sauce.
Return the cooked salmon fillets to the pan and spoon the sauce over them. Cook 1โ€“2 more minutes until the glaze coats the salmon evenly.

5. Serve.
Garnish with lemon slices and parsley. Serve immediately.
