HOW TO MAKE GLAZED SALMON:

Start by patting your salmon filets dry and seasoning them with salt, pepper, and paprika. Prepare a flavorful glaze with butter, garlic, honey, soy sauce, and sriracha. Sear the salmon in a hot skillet, spooning the glaze over the top as it cooks. Finish by broiling the salmon for a few minutes to achieve a caramelized, sticky glaze.

COOKING TIPS FOR SALMON RECIPES:

  • Use fresh salmon for the best flavor and texture.
  • Pat the salmon dry before seasoning to ensure a crisp exterior.
  • Cook the salmon skin-side down if using skin-on filets; this helps to retain moisture.
  • Avoid overcooking the salmon to maintain its tenderness.

VARIATIONS OF THIS RECIPE:

  • Spicy Glazed Salmon: Add extra sriracha or a pinch of chili flakes for a fiery kick.
  • Maple Glazed Salmon: Swap out the honey for maple syrup to create a rich, sweet glaze.
  • Orange Glazed Salmon: Substitute lemon juice with orange juice for a citrusy twist.
  • Herb Butter Salmon: Add fresh herbs like parsley, thyme, or dill for a fragrant finish.

MAKING HONEY GARLIC SALMON AHEAD OF TIME:

To save time, prepare the glaze ahead and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. When ready to cook, simply reheat the glaze and proceed with cooking the salmon. You can also season the salmon in advance to let the flavors penetrate deeper.

STORAGE:

Leftover salmon can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, place the salmon in a skillet over low heat to warm it through while preserving its texture. Avoid microwaving, as it may dry out the salmon. The glaze can also be stored separately and used as a sauce when reheating.

This Honey Garlic Glazed Salmon recipe is a must-try for a quick and delicious dinner. Succulent salmon filets are coated in a rich honey garlic glaze, blending sweet and savory flavors for a perfect caramelized finish. The glaze, made with honey, garlic, and soy sauce, adds a delectable touch that enhances the natural taste of the salmon. Ideal for both busy weeknights and special occasions, this easy-to-make dish pairs beautifully with a variety of sides. Enjoy a flavorful and satisfying meal with minimal effort.

Ingredients

  • For the Salmon:
  • 4 salmon filets (6 oz each)

  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)

  • ¼ teaspoon blackening seasoning (optional)

  • For the Sauce:
  • 3 tablespoons butter

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • ½ cup honey

  • 3 tablespoons water

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon sriracha sauce

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  • Prepare the Salmon: Pat the salmon filets dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, paprika, and blackening seasoning (if using). Set aside.
  • Preheat and Prepare the Broiler: Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the broiler. Ensure the rack is positioned in the center to prevent the sauce from burning.
  • Make the Sauce: In a large, oven-safe skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted, add minced garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey, and lemon juice. Cook for about 30 seconds, or until the sauce is heated through.
  • Cook the Salmon: Place the salmon filets in the skillet, skin side down (if using skin-on salmon). Cook for 3 minutes, basting frequently with the sauce from the pan by spooning it over the top of the salmon.
  • Broil the Salmon: Transfer the skillet to the oven and broil the salmon for 5-6 minutes, basting once during the broil. The salmon should be caramelized and cooked to your desired level of doneness.
  • Garnish and Serve: If desired, garnish with minced parsley before serving.
