Over the holidays, homemade mounds or Bounty Chocolate bars are always a hit. They’re also great as gifts when packed in small boxes or baggies and tied with ribbon or bows!
Make this popular candy bar at home by following my step-by-step instructions!
Ingredients
salted butter, 4 oz (one stick), softened
2 1/4 cup confectioner’s sugar, 6 oz
2 3/4 cups shredded/dessicated coconut (8 oz)
1/2 tsp vanilla
8 ounces of high-quality dark chocolate
Instructions
Cream the butter and sugar together, then add the coconut and vanilla and blend well.
Place on a wax paper-lined plate and shape into little logs or balls. Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
In the meantime, melt the chocolate in the microwave on defrost or in a double boiler.
Begin dipping each coconut form into the chocolate with a fork or dipping utensil once the chocolate has melted.
Return to the wax paper-lined tray and top with a little coconut if desired. Carry on with the remaining candies in a similar manner.
