Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter (½ stick)
  • 10 oz mini marshmallows, plus an additional ½ cup
  • 6 cups Fruity Pebbles cereal (or Cocoa Pebbles)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pan
Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray. Set aside.
  2. Melt the butter
In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter slowly. Avoid letting it bubble or brown.
  3. Add marshmallows
Stir in the 10 oz of mini marshmallows. Mix gently until they begin to melt. Remove the pan from heat before the marshmallows are fully melted—the residual heat will finish the process.
  4. Mix in the cereal
Add the Fruity Pebbles cereal and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Add extra marshmallows
Fold in the remaining ½ cup of mini marshmallows and mix lightly.
  6. Shape the treats
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Gently press it into an even layer without compacting too firmly.
  7. Let set
Allow the mixture to rest at room temperature for about 1 hour until firm.
  8. Cut and serve
    Slice into squares and serve.
