This is the best lasagna recipe I’ve ever tried! Simple, cheesy, beefy, and oh so tasty! It’s the go-to recipe for feeding a crowd or presenting to a party.

1 pound Italian sweet sausage
Lean ground beef, 34 pound
1/2 cup onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 can crushed tomatoes (28 ounces)
2 cans tomato paste (6 oz.)
2 cans (6.5 oz.) canned tomato sauce
1/2 cup of water
2 tablespoons sugar (white)
1/2 tablespoons basil leaves, dried
1/2 tsp. fennel seeds
1 tsp. Italian spices
1/2 teaspoons salt (divided) or salt to taste
1/4 teaspoon black pepper, ground
4 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 noodle lasagna
Ricotta cheese, 16 oz.

3/4 pound sliced mozzarella cheese
3/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
Directions
- Cook sausage, ground beef, onion, and garlic in a Dutch oven over medium heat until fully browned.
- Combine the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, tomato sauce, and water in a mixing bowl.

- Cover and cook for 1 1/2 hours, stirring periodically.

- Rinse the noodles in cold water after draining them.
- Combine ricotta cheese, egg, remaining parsley, and 1/2 teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl.

- Spread 1 1/2 cups meat sauce in the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish to assemble. Place 6 noodles lengthwise on top of the meat sauce.

- Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake for 25 minutes.
