  • 1 (15.25 oz) package yellow cake mix
  • ⅓ cup oil or melted butter
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1½ cups (12 oz) chocolate chips, semisweet or milk chocolate

Instructions

Prep the Oven and Pan

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C; 160°C fan).
  2. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan with baking spray.

Make the Cookie Dough

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs and oil (or melted butter) until combined.
  2. Add the cake mix and stir with a spatula until fully combined. The dough will be stiff.
  3. Fold in chocolate chips evenly throughout the dough.

Bake the Bars

  1. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking pan and press it down evenly with a spatula.
  2. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown.

Cool and Serve

  1. Allow the cookie bars to cool completely in the pan.
