
Spaghetti with Meatballs is a great supper for the whole family to enjoy. Baked Spaghetti with Meatballs is made in one pan and baked till hot, bubbling, and melted ooey gooey! Regular Spaghetti and Meatballs are elevated to extraordinary status with Baked Spaghetti and Meatballs.
INGREDIENTS
I used approximately 1 1/2 dozen homemade meatballs ** 24 oz jar marinara sauce completely prepared meatballs San Marzano sauce was utilized.
1/2 diced yellow onion
3 garlic cloves, smashed
1 tsp seasoning (Italian)
2 TBSP extra virgin olive oil
3/4 pound of spaghetti
a cup or two of grated cheese I used half mozzarella and half colby-jack cheese.
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
INSTRUCTIONS
Over medium/low heat, sauté onions in olive oil in a large cast iron skillet. Continue to sauté until the onions are soft, then add the garlic.
Toss in the cooked meatballs.
Add a tablespoon of marinara sauce and a teaspoon of Italian seasoning.
Cook for 20-30 minutes on medium/low heat.
Cook spaghetti noodles according to package directions in a separate big saucepan (under cook by 2 minutes).
Scoop meatballs from sauce with a large slotted spoon and set aside.
Using a large slotted spoon, scoop cooked spaghetti into marinara sauce. Approximately 1/2 cup pasta cooking water should be added. Gently toss the spaghetti in the sauce until it is completely coated.
Cooked meatballs should be placed on top of the spaghetti.
Grated cheese and parmesan cheese are sprinkled on top.
Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 20-3 minutes.
