  2. Prepare the Apples: Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples to about ยผ-inch thick. You should have approximately 12 cups of sliced apples. Squeeze the lemon juice over the apples and toss them to coat evenly.
  3. Make the Apple Filling: In a separate bowl, stir together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture over the sliced apples and toss until the apples are well-coated. Transfer the apple mixture to the prepared casserole dish.
  4. Prepare the Topping: In a large bowl, combine the flour, oats, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Add the diced butter and use your hands to work it into the dry ingredients until pea-sized crumbs form throughout. Evenly spread the topping over the apples.
